Chelsea was the cat of Kousei Arima when he was younger. Kousei loved playing with her, until one day, Chelsea scratched his hand, which led to his mother (Saki Arima) taking Chelsea away for abandonment.

She was found by Kousei Arima at an unknown date. Kousei kept her in a box under his deck/porch. He later is later seen showing her to Tsubaki. She encouraged Kousei to confront his mother about the cat.
Kousei Arima named his cat Chelsea (ch-el-see) because she kept eating his candy. She may be the cat on the Steinway and Sons grande piano in the first opening: episodes: 1-11.(I'm to lazy to check).
